If there's one thing I know more than a little about it's how to build websites for carpet cleaners! From when I set Pro Carpet Cleaning up in 2013 I knew that that online enquiries were going to be key, which meant that the website had to be right on point.
Key to this was understanding the different reasons people have in choosing a carpet cleaner. For some it's purely about the price, for others its the testimonials, whilst for some it could be seeing the before and after photos. As such, it was important to have all these elements included on the site, but also to make sure that they were all easily accessible.
Over time I could see from the website stats that prices and testimonials were proving the most popular pages for enquiries, so I gave these higher prominence.
In addition to having all these pages it was absolutely essential to have the contact details and enquiry form easily visible and accessible on every single page. This meant that regardless of what page the customer was on, or what they happened to be reading/looking at, they could make an enquiry straight away.
Regarding prices on the site there was always a mix of opinion in the industry as to whether this was a good idea or not. As far as I'm concerned, with carpet cleaning the vast majority of customers are shopping around, so without prices it's harder to benchmark against another firm. This doesn't mean you have to be the cheapest, but with no prices listed, it's much harder for the customer to compare, so they may well move onto those firms they can.
